The traditional elements
A complete traditional look often includes:

- Choker: a thushi or chinchpeti close to the neck.
- Long necklace: a Kolhapuri saaj, mohanmal or laxmi haar.
- Earrings: traditional studs, bugadi-style ear ornaments or jhumkas.
- Bangles: green glass bangles combined with gold-toned bangles or patlya.
- Vaki or bajuband: armlets on the upper arm.
- Kamarpatta: a waist belt for a regal finish.
How much to wear
For a bride or a formal ceremony, the full set creates the traditional look. For festivals and cultural events, choose three or four elements, such as nath, choker, one long necklace and bangles.
Layering necklaces
Wear the choker close to the neck and the long necklace at a clearly lower length. Leave space between layers so each design is visible.
Matching colours
Nauvari sarees come in rich colours. Gold-toned jewellery with pearls and red or green stones suits most of them. Match stone colours to the saree's border for a coordinated look.
Comfort for long events
Traditional events can last many hours. Choose lighter imitation pieces for long days, and bring a small pouch to store pieces safely if you need to remove them.
